September 2017 (date and place TBD)
The Center for an Ecology-Based Economy will host the 3rd Annual Electric Vehicle Expo. Our first was at the Norway Town Square and second at the South Paris Town Hall to celebrate the installation of EV charging stations at both.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
In 2016 a brand new charger was installed courtesy of the Town of Paris, The Center for an Ecology-Based Economy, Barry Woods of Electric Mobility NE, Garbo-Kane Solar, and Paris Autobarn. It's completely free to use and is conveniently located on the side of the Paris Police Department.
In 2014–15 the first municipal EV Charging Station in the State was installed at the Norway Town Square thanks to a donation to CEBE from ReVision Energy. The Town of Norway's Dennis Yates completed the installation and Fred Garbo took care of the signage.

Electric doesn't mean slow!
Wayne Krauth of Steep Falls, ME races an electric car which he's dubbed Snake Oil. The stylish green machine is a kit car replica of a 1965 AC Cobra, which can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in an astonishing 3.3 seconds. Wayne is a member of the National Electric Drag Racing Association, and holds a world record for electric drag racing. He attended the EV Expo with Snake Oil in 2016. If you didn't catch Wayne when he raced at Oxford Plains Speedway, stop by the EV Expo next year and you may get a chance to experience the power of Snake Oil for yourself—from the passenger's seat, of course.
In the News…
National Drive Electric Week
National Drive Electric Week is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today's widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. They are fun to drive, are less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles, are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Are you considering going electric? Come talk to owners who have successfully done so.
Please contact us if you would like to showcase your electric vehicle or related product, or if you would like to speak at our event. We are also looking for some food vendors to attend.
